The Stockton Manor has been a prominent fixture
on the Cape May oceanfront for more than 130 years.
Designed by renowned 19th century architect Stephen
Decatur Button, the home was built for Baltimore
industrialist Henry Tatham. In 1974, your hosts,
the Groetsch family, brought their commitment to
excellence to the 10,000-square foot manor, and
since that time, they have focused on the comfort
and privacy of their guests.
Old world atmosphere doesn't necessarily mean saying
good-bye to technology and convenience. Although
our mansarded Italianate was built in 1872, we've
equipped each of our rooms with modern amenities
such as private baths and showers, individually
controlled air conditioning and heat, remote control
color televisions with cable, and telephones with
data ports. Guests who want the option of preparing
their own meals can choose from one of two spacious
suites equipped with full-size eat-in kitchens.
Those who prefer to sample the cuisine of Cape May's
renowned restaurants can choose from a variety of
well-appointed rooms with features such as four-post
beds, fireplaces, and claw foot tubs.
