Cape May Beer Scene

Although Cape May became a wine lover’s destination first, recently breweries and microbreweries have brought Cape May beer into the spotlight.

Naturally, the most notable is the Cape May Brewing Company, which opened in 2011 and now offers a wide selection of craft beers.

The taproom is open every day from noon to 8 p.m. for tours and tastings. Tours are free but operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Or, try the Tour & Tasting Package for $10, which includes four four-ounce samples of your choice and more.

Children are welcome if accompanied with an adult and can enjoy a pint of root beer after the tour while you sample beers in the tasting room.

Another brewery helping the New Jersey brewing industry thrive is Tuckahoe Brewing Company–located in the northern part of Cape May County and is approximately a 30-minute drive from the Stockton Inns.

Tuckahoe Brewery is open for tours and tastings on a variety of brews on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
