Historic Cold Spring Village

Visit the Cold Spring Village

Though Cape May works hard at keeping history alive and well preserved, the Historic Cold Spring Village takes it to another level by showcasing what life was like during the “age of homespun.” Here, you’ll see the day-to-day activities of villagers living between 1789 – 1840.

The village, the largest outdoor living history museum in New Jersey, includes 30 acres of gardens, farms, and 26 restored historic buildings where you’ll learn about the lifestyles and occupations of those that would have lived in Southern Jersey at this time. You’ll learn about these villagers through interpreters who are authentically dressed for the time period. Visit with the village’s blacksmiths, woodworkers, and watch in awe of the basket weavers.

The village also includes an ice cream parlor, bakery, restaurant, and Country Store. The store is a perfect spot for souvenirs, jewelry, and specialty foods and goods.

In the fall, leading up to Halloween, the village hosts ghost walks on Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. Learn about the sightings and findings from paranormal investigations and staff over the years. Advanced reservations are recommended for this tour and can be made by calling (609) 898-2300 ext. 10.

Standard tickets for the village are $12 for adults, $10 for children ages 3 -12, and children under 3 are free. Active military members receive free admission with their ID, and veterans get 10% off admission prices. Visit the website for seasonal hours prior to your visit.
