Cape May Zoo

The Cape May Zoo is free to attend, open year round and located just a 15 minute drive up the Garden State Parkway from our lodging in Cape May. Need another reason to go? You’ll see over 200 different species across the zoo’s many acres, all in natural settings, created with safety and education in mind.

You may stop by for the morning and end up spending the whole day: areas like the World of Birds aviary, Reptile House and special African Savannah invite you to discover their residents for yourself. Giraffes, zebra, alligators, flamingos and more can all be found here, along with the rare snow leopard. Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the Cape May Zoo has a hand in caring for these species as part of international efforts to protect and secure their future.

Traveling with kids? The zoo is a perfect place to bring them: stop by the on-site playground for some extra fun during your visit, or see if the carousel, rock climbing wall and train ride near the entrance are operating when you visit.

The Cape May Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. during summer and 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. during the winter (winter hours begin on November 1st).
