Cape May’s unique charm really comes to life once the snow starts to fall. We can expect up to 12 inches of snow as winter begins! December receives less than an inch of snow, but we see more snowfall in January and February. In mid-February, expect nearly 4 inches of snow.

Victorian architecture and the beaches surrounding Cape May are still accessible during the winter. The sky isn’t completely clear during this time of year, but the sun still appears! Peak times for some winter sun activities are typically in December. Cloudy days are more frequent in January and last till the end of the season in February.

Rain clouds don’t shy away from looming over Cape May throughout the winter. Rainy days are standard in our beach town around December, with the forecast calling for 3.4 inches of rain throughout the month. February typically receives the least rain, with 2.6 inches.

The highest temperature never exceeds 50 degrees and typically ranges from 45 to 50 degrees from January to February. Lower temperatures are in the low 30s from December to February.
